it depends...if i stick with the 90's, i wouldn't want ikimono gakari and other great artists in the present be left behind...but yeah i agree with you...there's a lot of great japanese songs not just jpop that evolved during that era...especially those classic OST from japanese animes/shows that we enjoyed watching at home.

but with the artists that you've mentioned, Kiroro and Yuzu are some of my fave. Very Happy

can Mr.Children be included in the list of JPOP `90? hehehe... I love them sooo much!!!....I think I started to listen to Jpop when I heard their song, and not because of anime I watched....and they are the only J-band on their era that I knew...hik3....

This thread make me interested to discover who is kiroro and yuzu...i`ve never heard their name before....hik3....i`m pretty sure they are a good singer...hmmm....

yeah, kiroro and yuzu is my fave too. i like yuzu cos their folk music with harmonica just like ikimonogakari. and also yuzu is one of the lists of ikimonogakari big influence remember when ikimonogakari just formed, they have a formation like yuzu have. i like when koji iwasawa (harmonica player) sings, his voice same with TETSU in PUNK EN CIEL...

and kiroro, i like their song, especially MIRAI E....wheew, it become popular for high school students, especially in japanese lesson, cos it used for listening practice....

too bad i'm not student anymore....

yep yuzu is a big influence to ikimono....the band did a cover of Yuzu's single, "Natsu-iro" (The Colors of Summer) when they were just starting.

for kiroro...i really like "Nagai aida" Very Happy

for yuzu...gotta check out "Sayonara Bus" and "Natsu iro"

but they really have a lot of songs to listen to...they're legend in their own rights... Very Happy

This is what you call the 90's era Very Happy
